COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The South Park Site Stewards are committed to public outreach and education through our Community Outreach Programming. Each year we hold events open to the public.
2025 Community Outreach Activities
May 1- Fairplay Elementary School - Over 50 fourth and fifth grade students were introduced to Archaeology with flintknapping demos, examination of artifacts, and atlatl throwing.
July 12 - Archaeology Day in South Park - Multiple displays and activities for the public with over 400 attendees.
July - Wilkerson Pass Visitor Center - Informational booth about SPSS and Archaeology in South Park.
August 16 - Rocky Mountain Land Library - “South Park Geology and Archaeology” presentation by Bob Hickey and Beth Parisi.
October 3-5 - Colorado Archaeological Society Annual Meeting - Presentations were given by Beth Parisi and Barb Sanger.
October 16 – South Park National Heritage Area Open House - Information table about SPSS and Site Stewardship.
October 18 - International Archaeology Day at Red Rocks - Information table about SPSS and Site Stewardship.
